About The Position

This is a full-time, 32-hour-per-week Staff RN position in the Outpatient Surgery department at Riverside Methodist Hospital. The RN provides nursing care to patients and families across the health-illness continuum while collaborating with the health care team. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by state statutes and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

The role includes assessing patient health status, identifying outcomes and documenting planned interventions, evaluating patient responses and outcomes, and revising plans of care based on evaluative data in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse also participates in process improvement activities to support clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. As part of a High Reliability Organization, the role requires attention to safety, quality, and efficiency. Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor, and responsibilities may change.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current registered nurse license from the State of Ohio.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least 3 years of recent Preop, PACU, Critical Care, or Emergency Department RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as appropriate to the patient population and individual.
• Identify outcomes based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems, and document planned nursing interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to revise plans of care based on evaluation data.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.
• Focus on safety, quality, and efficiency while performing job duties.
