RN Preop/PACU
About The Position
The RN PreOp/PACU works in Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery, a combined unit consisting of 14 rooms. This arrangement supports continuity of care by allowing patients, when possible, to have the same nurse before and after their procedure. The nurse must be willing and capable of working in both pre-operative and post-operative areas, and must be committed to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The role requires strong perioperative clinical knowledge and skills, good organization, the ability to multitask amid frequent interruptions, flexible working hours, a positive attitude, and good communication skills.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the State of Kentucky.
- BCLS certification required.
- ACLS and PALS certification required.
- Proficiency in starting IVs.
- At least one year of RN experience in a PACU or ICU setting.
- Previous critical care or recovery experience is required.
- Strong clinical knowledge and skills regarding the perioperative experience.
- Good organizational skills and ability to multitask with frequent interruptions.
- Flexible working hours, a positive attitude, and good communication skills.
- Willingness and capability to work in both pre- and post-operative areas.
