About The Position

This position is for experienced RNs in the Emergency Department (ED) at the Main Campus. The role involves assisting patients through their episode of care with a focus on quality and safety. The RN will delegate, direct, oversee, and provide developmentally appropriate patient care. This role requires practicing professional nursing, promoting patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, and maintaining a current Ohio Nursing License. The position offers 24 or 30 hours per week, with shifts from 3p-3a or 7p-7a, depending on schedule needs. It includes a flat rate pay of $47.80/hr plus $2/hr critical care pay after unit orientation and is benefits eligible.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to provide culturally competent care with a demonstrated commitment to ensuring quality and safety initiatives.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • BSN; Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs.
  • Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
  • Plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
