About The Position

Under the general direction of the rehabilitation manager, provides physical therapy services to patients in the outpatient setting following the plan of care established by a physical therapist. Primarily outpatient setting but does involve some inpatient/Swing Bed treatments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved associate degree program as a PTA
  • Current State PTA License
  • CPR certification
  • Two (2) years of experience with a varied patient population

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy services, and reassessing the patient’s status on each visit and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
  • Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in the clinical record.
  • Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and the outcomes achieved as evidenced in the clinical record.
  • Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.
  • Instructs patient and caregiver in treatment programs, precautions and equipment use as necessary and documents patient/caregiver demonstration of instructions provided.
