About The Position

McLean Hospital, America's top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital, is inviting applications for a full-time (40 hours/week) Staff Psychologist at the Klarman Eating Disorders Center at McLean Hospital, located in Belmont, MA. The position will include a concurrent faculty appointment as an Instructor in Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. The Klarman Eating Disorders Center provides world-class treatment for young adult, including cisgender women, transgender women, and non-binary individuals, ages 18-28. Our residential and partial hospital program specializes in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies, and a Harvard Medical School appointment will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications including Massachusetts license.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university or school of psychology
  • Current licensure (or license eligible) in Massachusetts
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • Clinical psychology expertise and practice
  • Expertise in DBT, both theory and practice

Nice To Haves

  • Postdoctoral experience in a related field
  • Experience providing DBT treatment to young adults and families
  • Familiarity with complementary evidence-based treatments such as ACT, SPACE, behavioral parent training models, and/or CBT

Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive psychodiagnostic evaluations
  • Co-leading DBT groups
  • Delivering weekly individual and family-based psychotherapy sessions
  • Co-leading psychoeducation groups
  • Coordinating treatment planning for patients in partnership with our interdisciplinary team
  • Providing clinical services for all assigned patients and participating in the activities of the program
  • Mentoring, teaching, and training doctoral student trainees
  • Contributing to the program's intervention research
  • Participating in professional development activities throughout the hospital and medical school, including committees, teaching, and research
