Requirements
- Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
- Must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct formal psychiatric evaluations and review diagnoses for all assigned patients
- Review medications regularly and adjust treatment plans to ensure proper psychopharmacological care
- Lead the multidisciplinary treatment team, as well as direct the development and implementation of individual treatment plans
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in accordance with hospital and departmental standards
- Present complex cases for consultation and participate in performance improvement activities
- Maintain communication with families, patient advocates, and outside agencies as needed
