About The Position

This role is within the da Vinci® Multiport Global Product Management team, focusing on leading and supporting multiple generations of platform solutions throughout their lifecycle. It is an individual contributor position reporting to a Director. The role requires expertise in upstream strategic product management, working with cross-functional partners to ensure successful product launches and providing strategic guidance across the product lifecycle. The responsibilities are heavily concentrated on surgical robotic automation strategy and roadmap planning, informed by global user needs and the overall da Vinci development roadmap. The individual will be a key stakeholder during development and evaluation stages, acting as a global system portfolio expert to inform future portfolio strategy recommendations and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated prior experience in essential job duties noted above.
  • Minimum Bachelors degree.
  • Minimum 4 years in a medical or health related device role with 12 or more years cumulative professional experience.
  • Minimum 4 years in Product Management.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional engineering experience in highly regulated industry (example med device) preferred in software or hardware development.
  • Extensive prior experience in AI and automation development and global launch.
  • Product Management experience in Medical Device Industry.
  • MBA or similar experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create a staged and prioritized surgical automation roadmap based on customer need, value, technological feasibility, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
  • Connect autonomy to the platform architecture roadmap, inclusive of viability modeling and required cross business alignment.
  • Align a wide breadth of groups across the organization via a transparent, evidence-based process.
  • Provide a global market segmentation analysis supporting the market need and potential impact for each automation workstream in the roadmap.
  • Develop clinical and evidence generation timeline to drive regulatory approval and adoption globally and synced to the proposed global roadmap.
  • Propose a Product Management organizational structure to support ongoing expansion of the automation program, to be used in resource planning in 2027+.
