Combined with the fluid power products, the Industrial SBU provides a competitive advantage for OEM partners. We are currently looking for an Automation Product Manager in Michigan.

Requirements

  • BS in ME/IE/EE or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a technical role for automation systems.
  • Previous experience working for a distributor preferred.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with design, manufacture and integration of automated manufacturing, material handling, assembly and test equipment and mechanical and electrical design concepts and motion control.
  • Ability to develop creative cost-effective solutions to meet customer’s needs.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and AutoCAD, PLC Programming and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Penetrate the market within the Industrial Business Unit and achieve established goals in terms of sales, gross margin generation, and specific company initiatives within the Automation product lines.
  • Provide technical assistance to field Account Managers.
  • Interface and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Assess customer needs.
  • Specify products.
  • Prepare customer proposals, make customer presentations and resulting quotations.
  • Determine costs.
  • Service customers via telephone.
  • Service customers on site.
  • Develop technical drawings.
  • Manage products and supplier relationships.
  • Evaluate industry trends and new technology.
