About The Position

Clio is seeking a Staff Product Designer for its new Judiciary team, which is developing technology to help judges and clerks navigate their work in the age of AI. The role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec, and the United States. Candidates located near the Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto hubs are expected to work in the office at least twice per week on designated Anchor Days. The designer will lead strategy and end-to-end experience design for a zero-to-one product in an emerging space, from discovery and opportunity framing through launch and iteration. The role involves translating deep customer understanding of judges’ and clerks’ needs into clear direction, cohesive experiences, and measurable outcomes. The designer will partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders, help set the product vision and quality bar, elevate other designers, and shape AI experiences that are trustworthy, explainable, and appropriately controlled. The team is led by former Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court, Bridget McCormack. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, comfortable with ambiguity, skilled in research with niche users, and able to design for complexity with discernment and subtlety. They will help build technology for courts that supports judicial independence and impartiality and meets high standards for transparency, security, and the integrity of judicial decision making.
