Clio is seeking a Staff Product Designer for its growing Product Design team. The role is available to candidates across Canada, excluding Quebec, and the United States. Candidates near the Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto hubs are expected to work in the office at least twice per week on designated Anchor Days. The designer will join the new Judiciary team, which is developing technology to help judges and clerks navigate their work in the age of AI. The product must address the judiciary’s distinct requirements, including judicial independence and impartiality, transparency, security, and the integrity of judicial decision making. This is a zero-to-one opportunity in an emerging space with little precedent. The Staff Product Designer will lead strategy and end-to-end experience design across a complex product area, from discovery and opportunity framing through launch and iteration. Working closely with Product and Engineering leaders on a small team led by former Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget McCormack, the designer will turn customer understanding into clear direction, cohesive experiences, and measurable outcomes. The role also includes shaping trustworthy, explainable, and appropriately controlled AI experiences, raising design quality, and mentoring other designers. The position calls for an entrepreneurial designer with strong research skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build for complexity while maintaining subtlety. The designer will help imagine and create products for specialized users and needs that do not yet have established solutions.
