About The Position
The Staff Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff and is accountable for supporting the management, oversight, and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality patient care and supporting pharmacy operations, including patient safety, professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel and inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management. The Staff Pharmacist helps keep customers and patients healthy through adoption and management of patient care programs. The position calls for empathy and compassion, developing and motivating pharmacy support staff, identifying business opportunities and solutions, implementing goals, adapting to change, collaborating with others, and contributing to a caring and energetic team culture. The role applies professional knowledge to support healthy outcomes and distinguish CVS Health from competitors.
Requirements
- Active pharmacy license in the state of employment.
- Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- Immunization certification through an accredited organization, such as APhA.
- Free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
Responsibilities
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
- Support management, oversight, and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy.
- Support patient safety, professional practice, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and customer service.
- Support personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to help keep customers and patients healthy.
- Display empathy and compassion toward patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Motivate, inspire, and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments, addressing development opportunities, and reducing knowledge gaps.
- Identify business opportunities and contribute to solutions that drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Lead the team in implementing solutions and achieving specified goals.
- Adapt plans to change in a dynamic community healthcare setting.
- Collaborate with others, align colleagues around shared purpose, and contribute to a caring, energetic team culture.
- Apply acquired knowledge to support healthy outcomes and differentiate CVS from competitors.
