About The Position
The Staff Pharmacist helps deliver CVS Health’s purpose by providing patient-centered pharmacy care and supporting the management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy. The role supports the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff and is accountable for areas including patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel and inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management. The pharmacist helps keep customers and patients healthy through adoption and management of patient care programs. They lead with empathy and compassion, motivate and develop support staff, identify business opportunities and implement solutions to improve growth and performance, and adapt to a dynamic community healthcare setting. The role also involves collaborating with others, aligning colleagues around shared goals, contributing to a caring and energetic team culture, and applying acquired knowledge to drive healthy outcomes.
Requirements
- Active pharmacy license in the state of employment.
- Must not be on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- Immunization certification through an accredited organization, such as APhA.
- Must be free of pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
Responsibilities
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
- Support management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy.
- Promote patient safety, pharmacy professional practice, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.
- Support customer service, personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to help keep customers and patients healthy.
- Motivate, inspire, and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments, addressing development opportunities, and reducing knowledge gaps.
- Identify business opportunities and contribute to solutions that drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Lead the team in implementing solutions and achieving specified goals.
- Adapt plans to changes in a dynamic community healthcare setting.
- Collaborate with others and seek ways to deliver better outcomes.
- Align others around the pharmacy’s purpose to gain support and commitment.
- Contribute to a team culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Apply acquired knowledge to drive healthy outcomes and differentiate CVS from competitors.
