About The Position

Advantage is redefining what it means to be a pharmacy for people with serious behavioral health conditions. We specialize in serving patients with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, and related challenges—patients who are often overlooked by traditional healthcare systems. We provide advanced pharmacy services and wraparound care that ensure patients can access and stay on complex medications. We offer in-home and community-based injection support, help patients navigate insurance and prior authorizations, and work closely with providers to overcome barriers to treatment. By strengthening connections between patients, care teams, and support systems, we make it possible for people living with behavioral health challenges to achieve stability and long-term success. The Staff Pharmacist is essential in the daily operations of a pharmacy, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards. This role involves leading and supervising pharmacy staff, managing inventory, and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in pharmacy or related degree; Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing in practicing state
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and healthcare regulations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification in a relevant pharmacy specialty (e.g., BCPS, BCACP) preferred
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives and clinical research preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the pharmacy team, including pharmacy technicians, and support staff, to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Perform patient outreach and communicate with patients effectively to close gaps in their medication therapy
  • Ensure pharmacy team is working in a manner that support patient safety
  • Oversee the training and development of clinical pharmacy staff, including orientation, continuing education, and professional development
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers on pharmacotherapy and medication management
  • Mentor pharmacy students, residents, and fellows in clinical practice and research activities
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care
  • Serve as a liaison between the pharmacy department and other departments within the organization
  • Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to ensure optimal medication therapy outcomes
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in medication dispensing and handling
  • Monitor for and report medication errors and adverse drug reactions
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance pharmacy services
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Ability to participate in the Pharmacist Injection/Vaccination Program
