Per Diem Pharmacist
About The Position
Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacist to support our Central Office Pharmacy in Augusta. This position is ideal for a pharmacist looking to supplement their current schedule while becoming part of a respected, mission-driven healthcare organization dedicated to serving Maine's veterans. We are looking for someone who is available to work one Saturday per month, with the opportunity to pick up additional weekday shifts as needed. Requirements
- PharmD or post-graduate degree from an accredited program
- Active Maine Pharmacist license
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Long-term care, institutional, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and dispense medications accurately and efficiently
- Ensure safe medication practices and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
- Identify and resolve medication-related concerns, interactions, or discrepancies
- Support pharmacy workflow, inventory management, and controlled substance accountability
- Maintain accurate documentation and pharmacy records
