About The Position

Altruix is a high-touch pharmacy dedicated to behavioral health and intellectual & developmental disability populations. The company's pharmacy expertise, optional Medherent technology, and special packaging promote medication adherence. Altruix provides value-added services that help clients take their medications as prescribed without having to juggle pill bottles, while physicians and staff spend less time managing medications, obtaining essential information, and managing medication-related issues. We are seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to join our team in Scranton, PA. This position will support pharmacy operations and ensure the safe, accurate, and compliant dispensing of medications while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and customer service. The Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying prescriptions, evaluating medication therapies, monitoring for potential interactions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and collaborating with pharmacy staff and healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented pharmacist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering exceptional pharmacy services to the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required
  • Knowledge of principals related to pharmaceutical preparation and practices
  • Licensed Pharmacist listed by the Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience as a pharmacist, long-term care or retail pharmacy preferred
  • Strong leadership skills

  • A combination of comprehensive therapeutic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and judgment is necessary
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others; comprehension of the current standards of pharmacy practice; and understanding of the challenges of professional pharmacy practice

  • Ability to manage multiple employees and workloads at once and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions
  • Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication
  • Ensures that appropriate laboratory tests for monitoring certain high-risk conditions are ordered, evaluated and discussed with appropriate members of the healthcare team
  • Obtains, as necessary, and maintains all required documentation in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and policy
  • Informs the Pharmacist in Charge of medication related errors
  • Performs other duties as assigned
