Staff Nurse (casual) - Peds/PICU
About The Position
This is a casual Staff Nurse position in the Inpatient Pediatrics/PICU department. Casual nurses have no regular scheduled hours and cannot hold both a casual and a regularly scheduled position within the same facility. Casual nurses must be available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8-hour shifts (or equivalent) per four-week scheduling period, including at least one weekend shift. They must also be available to work two specified holiday shifts per calendar year, with at least one being a winter holiday. Within the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by protecting, promoting, and optimizing health, preventing illness and injury, alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response, partnering with the patient, their family and significant others, and documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care.
Requirements
- Must have PICU professional nursing experience
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Nice To Haves
- Certification in area of clinical specialty
- BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
