About The Position

This is a PICU travel nursing assignment at a Main Campus Hospital. It is a Night Shift position requiring specialized pediatric critical care experience. The traveler must work at least every other holiday.

Requirements

  • Experience with inotropes
  • EKG/ECG rhythm recognition
  • Ability to achieve acceptable scores on ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation
  • Ohio RN License (permanent) required, OR Compact State RN License in hand — required at time of submission
  • AHA or client-approved BLS (Basic Life Support) certification — required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification — required
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification — required
  • Minimum 18 months of permanent (staff) experience in the specialty being applied for, prior to any travel assignments
  • Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric experience (travel experience will suffice)
  • Experience in epilepsy monitoring and specialized care of pediatric patients up to 25 years of age
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only)
  • Flu vaccination required (Medical/Religious Exemptions only)

Nice To Haves

  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized care for pediatric patients of all ages up to 25 years in the PICU setting.
  • Perform epilepsy monitoring and related specialized patient care.
  • Perform ECG rhythm recognition (assessment test completed during orientation; an acceptable score is required).
  • Complete safeMedicate assessment during orientation; an acceptable score is required.
  • Submit hours worked via Qualivis – Lotus.
  • Work at least every other holiday as required.
