Staff Nurse - RN - Same Day Surgery - PACU
About The Position
The Staff Nurse at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center manages and provides care to patients and their families, and directs and supervises nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, delegates, and evaluates nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model. The role contributes to staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care, with care directed toward positive patient outcomes, patient involvement in care planning, and reduced hospitalization length. The position is in Same Day Surgery at University Hospital Pavilion, a six-operating-room unit within Perioperative Services. The unit supports specialties including orthopedics (hand and total joints), general surgery, urology, ENT, and gynecology. The position has 36 scheduled hours and varying shifts.
Requirements
- A two-year college degree in Nursing from a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited nursing program is required.
- A current Ohio nursing license or interim permit is required.
- Maintain a current Ohio RN license.
- Meet mandatory educational and health requirements.
- Demonstrate computer skills required to meet job functions.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor's degree in Nursing from a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited nursing program is preferred.
- Two years of experience in a relevant care setting is preferred.
