About The Position
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a registered nurse for the 30-bed Adult Acute Care Unit (2JCP), part of the Medical Surgical Services division. The unit serves patients from Family Medicine and specialized surgical services, including otolaryngology (ENT), oral surgery, and plastic reconstructive surgery. All rooms are private. A multidisciplinary team provides individualized patient care and support.
Requirements
- An associate’s degree in nursing, diploma in nursing, baccalaureate degree in nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader, or a master’s degree in nursing (MSN, MA).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with patients and families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members, demonstrated through written and verbal interactions.
- General computer skills.
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa by the date of hire.
Nice To Haves
- A baccalaureate degree in nursing or master’s degree in nursing.
- Active enrollment in a BSN program if a baccalaureate degree in nursing has not yet been obtained.
- Previous telemetry experience.
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
