Staff Nurse (PRN) Medical Surgical
About The Position
The Staff Nurse provides nursing care to assigned medical-surgical patients by assessing patient needs and delivering appropriate interventions consistent with the Plan of Care, standards of practice, and physician-prescribed medical plans. The nurse conducts Hourly Rounds using service excellence standards and fosters a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors. The role also contributes to department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives that cultivate nursing-involved Evidence Based Practices, and supports continued professional growth through goal-setting and participation in educational offerings.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
- Valid South Carolina or compact (multi-state) RN license.
- Active Basic Life Support certification.
- Additional certifications as required by the unit.
Responsibilities
- Assess assigned patients’ needs using history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data.
- Provide appropriate nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care, standards of practice, and physician-prescribed medical plans of care.
- Conduct Hourly Rounds using service excellence standards.
- Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
- Contribute to department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives that cultivate nursing-involved Evidence Based Practices.
- Set professional goals and participate in educational offerings to demonstrate continued professional growth.
