About The Position

Hennepin Healthcare is hiring a Staff Nurse (0.5 FTE: 2-3 days/week, 8 hour shifts) to join our Pediatric clinic in downtown Minneapolis to work day shift. This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow. Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by: Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health, Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care, Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response, Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others, Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care, Educating patient on their disease process, Assuring continuity of care, Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being. Pediatric Nurse Responsibilities include: Partnering, communicating, and educating patient’s parents and/or guardians in all steps of the process. Triage work done in collaboration with provider and or support staff for immediate resolution. Triaging can be completed in person, telephonic or electronically. Providing direct patient facing care to include rooming, completion of wellness visits, EKS, spirometry, immunizations and injections and adherence to standing orders.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in area of clinical specialty
  • One year of clinical pediatric experience
  • Prior ambulatory experience
  • BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
