About The Position

Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit senior care company that partners with Sanford Health to provide care through all stages of life. The Staff Nurse - RN provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, following location standards, procedures, and individualized resident care plans. The position is based at Litzenberg Memorial Merrick C in Central City, Nebraska, and is full-time on 12-hour night shifts.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
RN licensure for the state of practice is required.
Basic ability to communicate and comprehend.
Ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
Knowledge of basic nursing skills.
Knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate resident care in pertinent areas.
Administer medications and treatments to assigned residents and update plans of care as needed.
Safeguard residents’ property and maintain their self-esteem, privacy, and confidentiality.
Support resident independence and choice in accordance with care plans.
Help maintain safe, pleasant, and orderly resident living areas.
Process physicians’ orders and notify physicians in a timely manner.
Observe residents; direct and document care; receive and share information; and report resident conditions to appropriate staff.
Respond promptly to resident call lights.
Direct and assist with education for residents and their families or significant others.
Use the EMR accurately.
Use transfer equipment and handling techniques in a way that helps residents feel safe.
Demonstrate knowledge of department-specific safety, fire, and disaster plans.
