Children’s Mercy is seeking a Staff Nurse for their Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic. This clinic provides care for children with physical disabilities that interfere with normal functioning, treating a wide range of conditions including brachial plexus injury, amputation/limb disorders, brain/head injuries, cerebral palsy, gait disorders, musculoskeletal system diseases, neuromuscular diseases, near drowning, neuro-oncology rehab, physical debilitation, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, spasticity and movement disorders, and torticollis. Nurses in this role utilize skills in telephone triage, medication administration, and clinic coordination. The position requires a nurse with strong teamwork, collaboration, communication, flexibility, and a passion for patients with complex needs. Registered nurses provide illness management and health promotion for patients and families, utilizing the nursing process and scientific principles to deliver safe, high-quality, comprehensive, and age-appropriate care. They also provide patient and family education, advocate for patient needs, and coordinate care with nonprofessional personnel.
