About The Position

This is a 6-month assignment for a Staff Nurse in the Endoscopy department. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no on-call requirements. The nurse will be responsible for assessing, formulating a plan of care, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients. They will also act as a leader and collaborate with the healthcare team to foster a world-class environment. The role involves shared governance principles, emphasizing partnership, equity, accountability, and ownership to support excellent patient care.

Requirements

  • Assessing, formulating plan of care, implementing and evaluating nursing care for assigned patient population.
  • Acting as a leader and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Following specialty, federal recommendations and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participating in perioperative services nursing and hospital wide Performance Improvement activities and Unit Based Council.
  • Providing direction and collaborating with team members.
  • Pursuing lifelong education and staying current on professional changes and best practices.
  • Being responsible for FTE hours.
  • Maintaining financial responsibility within the unit's budget.
  • Providing education and being a resource to other staff members, students, and new orientees.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessments in a systematic and organized manner to provide high quality care and safe outcomes, exercising autonomy when needed to make decisions in the best interest of the patient.
  • Educates and implements the patient's plan of care, sharing information with the patient and family.
  • Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary departments to coordinate appropriate care for endoscopy patients efficiently and with high quality.
  • Follows all relevant specialty, federal recommendations, and hospital policies and procedures when caring for patients and performing tasks.
  • Participates in perioperative services nursing and hospital-wide Performance Improvement activities and Unit Based Council.
  • Provides direction and collaborates with team members to support a healthy work environment.
