About The Position

Moog's Space Sector is seeking a Staff Manager, Electrical Design Engineering to lead a multi-functional team of Electrical, EEE Component, FPGA, and Packaging design engineers for NASA, military, and commercial space applications. This role reports to the Staff Design Engineering Manager and will lead a team of approximately 20 engineers, including 10 direct reports and 2 section managers. Moog is a global leader in precision motion control technology, with a strong culture focused on performance, trust, and employee well-being. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of technical experience, designing and developing circuit cards, electronic enclosures, or working with FPGAs
  • Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Proven track record managing and leading engineering teams to success
  • Self-motivated, with strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proficient communication skills, both in writing technical documentation and in public speaking presentations
  • Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)

  • Currently holding a clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of ~20 engineers, fostering growth and collaboration
  • Provide personal development for direct reports by conducting performance reviews, training, mentoring, and monitoring career development
  • Assign programs and projects to direct reports in a timely manner and monitor these tasks so they are completed within technical, cost, and schedule constraints
  • Champion continuous improvement in the design and development processes
  • Coordinate with design leadership to align project goals and share best practices across teams
  • Maintain key performance indicators and metrics
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to your team
  • Select and equip your team with the best tools and technology to excel
  • Foster design reviews, validating adherence to internal standards
