The Display Design and Development group is a dynamic, cross-functional hardware organization within GM’s Compute & Connectivity Hardware team, responsible for the end-to-end design and integration of next-generation in-vehicle display modules. The team owns the electrical and mechanical design of fully integrated display systems—spanning control boards, optics, mechanics, and firmware—while also reviewing and approving supplier and production design changes to ensure robustness, quality, and cost efficiency. Working closely with software, vehicle integration, and design partners, the group is building an in-house display platform that can be reused across programs, enabling faster technology introduction, richer digital experiences, and a more consistent, premium display experience for customers. We are looking for a Staff Hardware Engineer to lead hardware definition and technical execution for display-focused diagnostic and interface integration work. This role is centered on display hardware bring-up, interface definition, issue investigation, and cross-functional problem solving, with particular emphasis on diagnostic architecture, FIDM and related interface documentation, and PRTS issue resolution. The ideal candidate combines strong display hardware fundamentals with the ability to work across system, software, validation, and supplier teams to define robust hardware requirements, drive root-cause investigations, and improve product quality and launch readiness.
