About The Position

As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer on the ArsenalOS Deployment initiative within Maritime Digital Production (MDP), you will build and operate full-stack applications for daily production planning, work assignment, and team-lead dashboards used on the factory floor. You will develop offline-capable, mobile-friendly software for operators working in network-constrained environments, where reliability and usability are essential. You will own Maritime-specific manufacturing software requirements end to end, including deciding whether to build or extend capabilities. The current focus is shop-floor execution and scheduling in the manufacturing execution system (MES), with a broader mandate covering future MES, ERP, and adjacent manufacturing needs. You will design, develop, deploy, and operate software across Maritime's factories, including edge compute clusters and OT networks. The role also includes collaboration with manufacturing engineers, factory operators, backend and data engineers, factory systems teams, and operations; participation in an on-call rotation; and setting technical direction while mentoring junior engineers. MDP builds and deploys the technology stack supporting Anduril's shipbuilding factories, spanning operational technology, information technology, factory data infrastructure, manufacturing execution, scheduling, and AI systems. The team validates solutions with factory operators, hardens them for reliability and security, and scales them across multiple U.S. sites.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in a software engineering role building production systems, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep expertise in full-stack web development, including frontend and backend systems.
  • Strong technical fluency in modern software architectures, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, and cloud or edge infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js, and modern web frameworks.
  • Experience building offline-capable web applications using service workers, IndexedDB, local storage, and progressive web app patterns.
  • Experience building systems that operate reliably under real-world operational constraints, such as high availability, low latency, or constrained environments.
  • Experience working with large enterprise applications and platforms with high-availability requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OT-adjacent domains, such as MES, SCADA, PLC integration, factory automation, or IoT.
  • Hands-on experience building mobile-first or offline-capable web applications for network-constrained, industrial, or field environments.
  • Experience with data synchronization patterns, conflict resolution strategies, and eventual consistency models in distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with frontier AI tooling, AI coding assistants, and AI-enabled software development workflows.
  • Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments, balancing speed, ambiguity, and long-term system health.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MES, WMS, or manufacturing planning systems.
  • Experience designing UX/UI for non-desk workers, including touch-optimized rugged-device interfaces and accessibility considerations for manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to assembly lines or production environments in manufacturing industries.
  • Understanding of edge computing architectures and deployment patterns for factory-floor applications.
  • Experience with GraphQL, real-time data subscriptions, or WebSocket-based architectures.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Build full-stack web applications for daily production planning, work assignment, and team-lead operational dashboards.
  • Develop offline-capable, mobile-friendly interfaces for factory operators working in network-constrained or intermittently connected environments.
  • Own Maritime-specific manufacturing software requirements end to end and make build-versus-extend decisions for each requirement.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and operate manufacturing software across Maritime factories, including edge compute clusters and OT networks.
  • Partner with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to understand workflows and translate them into software requirements.
  • Write production-quality code with comprehensive tests, and participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
  • Implement offline-first architectures using service workers, local storage, and background synchronization.
  • Build responsive, touch-optimized interfaces for tablets and mobile devices used in harsh manufacturing environments.
  • Design data synchronization strategies that handle conflicts and preserve data integrity between edge devices and backend systems.
  • Use AI tooling in development and contribute to team engineering practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting production factory systems.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers, data engineers, factory systems teams, and operations to integrate with MES, data pipelines, and enterprise systems.
  • Set technical direction and mentor junior engineers on resilient, user-centered manufacturing software practices.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Top-tier benefits for full-time employees, available at little to no cost to employees.
