STAFF ENGINEER, PHOTO DRAM

Micron Technology•Boise, ID

About The Position

Micron Technology is seeking an experienced EUV Process Engineer to support the development, optimization, and high-volume manufacturing of next-generation semiconductor technologies. The position is a senior technical contributor role requiring significant independence to drive complex process solutions from start to finish and partner with cross-functional teams and external suppliers to enable robust EUV patterning performance. The role leads EUV lithography process development and sustainment for advanced technology nodes in a manufacturing environment. It also develops new design, layout, and photolithography techniques for future memory devices, investigates potential intellectual property opportunities, and communicates technical findings to engineering peers, leadership, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with more than 5 years of post-degree experience in semiconductor lithography process engineering; alternatively, an advanced degree (MS or PhD) in one of these fields or a related field, with more than 3 years of post-graduate experience in semiconductor lithography process engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex process problems using structured, data-driven approaches.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, and ability to work effectively across disciplines and organizations.
  • Experience using AI tools to automate workflows and improve engineering productivity.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of and experience with EUV lithography, CDU/overlay modeling, stochastic optimization, or defect mitigation strategies.
  • Data science, programming, or machine learning experience applied to semiconductor process development.
  • Experience using AI-assisted analytics to enhance data interpretation, anomaly detection, and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with external research institutes or equipment and materials suppliers.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive EUV lithography process development and sustainment for advanced technology nodes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Innovate design, layout, and photolithography techniques to support future generations of memory devices; review literature for potential intellectual property opportunities and file disclosures.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and resolve CDU, overlay, stochastic, and defectivity issues that affect yield and line performance.
  • Develop and optimize process windows, scanner jobs, and metrology strategies to meet performance and manufacturability targets.
  • Partner with equipment, metrology, materials, etch, and integration teams to deliver stable, high-yield EUV processes.
  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers, including scanner, mask, resist, and ecosystem vendors, to evaluate and qualify new technologies.
  • Analyze large datasets using data-driven methods and translate findings into actionable process improvements.
  • Document and communicate complex technical results to engineering peers, leadership, and stakeholders.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Benefits that help protect income in case of illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid holidays.
