About The Position

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, administering, and supporting secure network infrastructure across multiple facilities and remote locations. This hands-on role supports a diverse, multi-vendor environment and requires strong troubleshooting skills, sound technical judgment, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will help maintain network availability, security, performance, and operational resilience in a compliance-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with switching, routing, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with load-balancing technologies.
  • Experience supporting multi-vendor network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, VPN appliances, and fiber/copper connectivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in both remote and on-site environments.
  • Availability for after-hours on-call support and occasional travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a multi-vendor network environment, including SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco, Ruckus, and Loadbalancer.org technologies.
  • Administer and troubleshoot 100+ VPN endpoints to ensure secure, reliable connectivity across remote locations.
  • Support customer-managed networks, including Layer 2 point-to-point circuits, routing, switching, and integrated network services.
  • Respond to incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and support planned maintenance.
  • Monitor network availability and performance, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to maintain service reliability.
  • Install, rack, cable, configure, and deploy network equipment, VPN appliances, and related infrastructure.
  • Provide on-site support for air-gapped networks in compliance with security and operational requirements.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation and respond to urgent network or facility needs.
  • Support disaster recovery infrastructure through maintenance, testing, validation, and incident response.
  • Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning to strengthen resilience and recovery readiness.
  • Travel to remote facilities and recovery sites as business needs require.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to network security, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Partner with technical teams, customers, vendors, and business stakeholders to plan and implement network solutions.
