About The Position

We are actively seeking a Staff Engineer II | Water & Wastewater to join our team in our Cranberry Township, PA office and help deliver meaningful infrastructure projects that serve communities. As a Staff Engineer II with HRG, you will work alongside experienced engineers on the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater systems, gaining hands-on experience while building your technical and professional skills. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career engineer looking to grow in a collaborative and supportive consulting environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related discipline
  • Approximately 2+ years of consulting or relevant engineering experience, including water distribution and treatment systems, wastewater, collection, conveyance and treatment systems processes, hydraulics, environmental assessments
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification preferred
  • Academic or professional experience related to water and wastewater systems
  • Familiarity with PA DEP regulations, AutoCAD and common engineering or modeling software preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective utilization of common business platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting tools, project management systems, etc.
  • Flexibility to travel to job sites, meetings, and other offices as necessary, which may include overnight stays
  • Valid US Driver’s License is required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and design of water treatment, storage, and distribution systems, as well as wastewater collection and treatment facilities
  • Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings, and permit applications for municipal and utility clients
  • Assist with hydraulic analysis and system modeling using industry-standard engineering software
  • Participate in field work, site visits, inspections, and data collection to support project development
  • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects
  • Attend and participate in client meetings to support project coordination, communication, and relationship building
  • Assist with construction phase services, including cost estimates, submittal reviews, and coordination with contractors and agencies
