About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating with a team of technical staff members who are responsible for the general acceptance of 4G/5G software releases and/or new solutions introductions. The position involves hands-on analysis of network performance issues, such as air interface and call processing, and creating solutions to meet network optimization expectations. Collaboration with Network Engineering and Operations teams on cell site antenna and RF equipment configuration and database parameters is key. The role also includes communicating the PA team budget, milestones, and deliverables to project management, and implementing plans to achieve these within budget. Additionally, the Staff Engineer will educate customers on Samsung’s new products and services, ensure customer commitments are met, and work closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams for successful new product rollouts and developments. Presenting technical and non-technical ideas logically and compellingly, both in writing and verbally, is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronic Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent.
  • 6 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or any engineering-related job titles.
  • 6 years of experience in working on LTE/5G performance projects.
  • 6 years of experience in working in the wireless industry, including working in LTE/5G.
  • 6 years of experience with 3GPP systems: Core and RAN networks.
  • 6 years of experience with Hardware and software architecture.
  • 6 years of experience with 5G/4G concepts including Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, 5G Numerologies.
  • 6 years of experience with RAN Virtualization (VNF) and OA&M Systems.
  • 6 years of experience with Local Redundancy and Geographic redundancy solutions.
  • 6 years of experience with Radio Frequency and data network protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with a team of technical staff members for general acceptance of 4G/5G software releases and/or new solutions introductions.
  • Overseeing all aspects of field acceptance testing and support, resource planning, task assignment, tracking deliverables, and risk management to ensure product deliverables are met.
  • Performing hands-on analysis of network performance issues (i.e., air interface, call processing, etc.) and creating solutions to meet network optimization expectations.
  • Collaborating with the Network Engineering and Operations teams on the cell site’s antenna and RF equipment configuration and database parameters.
  • Communicating PA team budget, milestones, and deliverables to project management and implementing plans to accomplish the milestones within budget, as required.
  • Educating customers on Samsung’s new products and services both individually and in a team environment.
  • Ensuring that customer commitments are achieved according to plan.
  • Working closely with various support organizations, logistics, and cross-functional teams from SEA and Samsung HQ to achieve successful new product rollouts and developments.
  • Presenting technical and non-technical ideas, in a logical, compelling manner in written format and verbally in small and large group settings.
