Staff Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater

About The Position

In this role, you will lead Electrical design for water/wastewater projects, provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff, and serve as a technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations. You will also support business development related to enhanced Electrical services and build business relationships with clients to understand their needs and drivers. Additional project opportunities include studies such as Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Electrical Reliability Analysis. You will also be involved in construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues, coordination with local electrical utilities, review of supplier submittals, acting as a liaison between local and remote design teams for Instrumentation and Control design, and startup and testing of major electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer’s license in KS, MO, or another US jurisdiction
  • 5-8 years in electrical design, planning and construction services
  • Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred
  • Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators
  • Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA system, instrumentation and fiber optic cabling
  • Experience in a client-facing/business development role
  • Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus
