About The Position

Crest Health Center is seeking a motivated and organized individual to serve as the Staff Development Trainer and Scheduler for the CNA shifts. This role is essential to maintaining appropriate staffing coverage while supporting the growth, education, and performance of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The Staff Trainer and Scheduler in this position will play a key role in training, orientation, and ongoing staff development to ensure the highest level of resident care.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Experience working with CNAs; training or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teaching skills
  • Ability to train, support, and motivate frontline staff
  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred
  • Comfortable using scheduling software or willing to learn

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and maintain CNA staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage across all shifts
  • Coordinate schedule changes, call-offs, and open shifts in collaboration with nursing leadership
  • Ensure staffing meets regulatory requirements, acuity needs, and facility standards
  • Communicate schedules clearly and in a timely manner to CNA staff
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of newly hired CNAs
  • Provide ongoing training, education, and skills reinforcement for CNA staff
  • Support staff development through coaching, guidance, and performance feedback
  • Monitor CNA care practices and reinforce best practices, safety standards, and person-centered care
  • Promote consistency, confidence, and quality in daily resident care
  • Serve as a professional role model for nursing practice and resident-centered care
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership on quality improvement and staff development initiatives
  • Assist with ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
