About The Position

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Staff Development Technician I for the Treatment and Detention Facility located in Rushville, Illinois. This position conducts training sessions for the staff at the Treatment and Detention Facility. Serves as the back-up administrator for the computer-based learning system. Assists in maintaining a training library for staff use. Assists in the administration of the Security Therapy Aide Trainee training program.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college.
  • Academic coursework should include quantitative measures (introductory statistics or business mathematics or social science analytical tools), educations methods, psychology of individuals, organizational or group behavior, labor relations or equivalents.
  • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of professional experience conducting individual and group training sessions for a public or private organization.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience developing training schedules, including coordinating, organizing and scheduling of instructors.
  • Two (2) years of experience utilizing automated multi-tasking computer software, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, in the completion of routine tasks.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience evaluating training results, providing feedback and revising training curriculum as necessary.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience contributing to the development of or interpreting policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience participating in or developing training modules.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts training sessions for the staff at the Treatment and Detention Facility.
  • Participates in the development of training.
  • Serves as the backup administrator for the computer-based learning system.
  • Assists in maintaining a training library for staff use.
  • Assists in the administration of the Security Therapy Aide Trainee training program.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
