About The Position

Carolina Meadows, a leading continuing-care retirement community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is seeking an experienced and dynamic RN Staff Development Coordinator. This role is crucial for leading clinical training for our expanding assisted living and skilled nursing communities, especially as we open a new skilled nursing building. The coordinator will spearhead onboarding and education for our unique "small house" model, shaping the future of person-centered care by equipping caregiving teams with specialized skills and compassionate training for our newly constructed residential care environments.

Requirements

Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
3–5 years of progressive nursing experience in long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing.
Strong leadership, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
Deep understanding of geriatric care and person-directed models of support.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in staff development, education, or clinical instruction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and implement comprehensive orientation and continuous educational training programs for new and existing clinical staff.
Champion the unique, highly-personalized "small house" philosophy, ensuring caregivers understand the resident-centric, neighborhood-based care approach.
Develop targeted, ongoing educational curriculum to elevate the quality of life, dignity, and independence of our assisted living residents.
Ensure all training aligns with state and federal health regulations.
Oversee the Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP).
