About The Position

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Staff Design Engineer to support civil engineering clients with the design and implementation of its stormwater products. The role focuses on providing project-specific design assistance and advice so products can be integrated into site plans, while helping clients address stormwater quality and quantity management challenges. The engineer manages projects during the design phase, maintains and communicates current project information, develops product specifications with specifying civil engineers, and collaborates with field and internal teams. The role also works with Regulatory Services to identify market opportunities and strengthen the company’s presence in existing markets.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office products.
At least 2 years of experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design.
AutoCAD proficiency.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE), depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering clients, including design calculations, basic layouts and drawings, and advice on integrating products into site plans.
Respond to civil engineer client inquiries and provide design assistance through plan reviews and interpretations.
Provide guidance on local stormwater regulations.
Manage and track projects in the design phase, keeping project data current and communicating it to team members.
Assist with projects at any stage when necessary.
Collaborate with specifying civil engineers to develop product specifications.
Communicate with field and internal teams to meet stormwater quality, quantity, low-impact development, runoff reduction, drainage, and system layout objectives.
Coordinate with Regulatory Services to identify opportunities in new markets, expand the company’s presence in existing markets, and support the highest specification for water quality in the region.
