About The Position

At Contech Engineered Solutions, the Stormwater Staff Engineer supports civil engineering clients with the design and implementation of Contech stormwater products. The role maintains client relationships by presenting project-specific solutions, preparing design calculations and basic layouts and drawings, offering technical advice, responding to inquiries, reviewing and interpreting plans, and providing guidance on local stormwater regulations.

The position manages and tracks projects during the design phase, keeps project data current and communicated to team members, and may assist with projects at any stage. It also works directly with specifying civil engineers to develop product specifications and coordinates with field and internal teams to meet stormwater quality, quantity, low-impact development, runoff reduction, drainage, and system-layout objectives. In collaboration with Regulatory Services, the role identifies opportunities in new markets, strengthens presence in existing markets, and supports the highest water-quality specifications in the region.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office products.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE), depending upon experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil site projects with an emphasis on stormwater or drainage design.
• AutoCAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Present project-specific solutions to civil engineering clients, including design calculations, basic layouts and drawings, and advice on integrating Contech products into site plans.
• Respond to civil engineer client inquiries and provide feedback and design assistance through plan reviews and interpretations.
• Provide guidance on local stormwater regulations.
• Manage and track projects in the design phase, keeping project data current and communicating it to team members.
• Assist with projects at all stages when necessary.
• Collaborate directly with specifying civil engineers to develop product specifications.
• Communicate with field and internal teams to meet stormwater quality, quantity, low-impact development, runoff reduction, drainage, and system-layout objectives.
• Coordinate with Regulatory Services to identify opportunities in new markets, enhance presence in existing markets, and drive the highest specification for water quality supported by the region.
