About The Position

Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking a Staff Design Engineer, Structural to work with its Structures team, which develops engineering solutions for short- to medium-span bridges nationally. The role collaborates with Engineering and CAD teams to prepare customer engineering and drawing submittals and works with sales personnel, consulting engineers, contractors, customers, and manufacturing teams to support Contech bridge products, particularly precast concrete bridges. Local candidates only.

The engineer assists field sales with product integration into site plans by preparing drawings and calculations, reviewing project plans, developing solutions, and providing technical advice. The role also performs structural analysis and design of bridge elements, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls, and provides technical support to manufacturing. Additional work includes coordinating with sales and manufacturing, maintaining knowledge of governing specifications, contributing to specifications and technical materials, and keeping current with civil and structural engineering knowledge through relevant industry activities and education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; a Civil Engineering degree with a Structural emphasis is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working on civil engineering projects.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong team and client relationships.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD, finite element analysis, and/or structural analysis software preferred.
• Civil Engineering degree with a Structural emphasis strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the field sales team in integrating Contech products, particularly precast concrete bridge products, into site plans.
• Prepare engineering drawings and calculations, review project plans, develop project solutions, and provide technical advice.
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge elements, including superstructures, foundations, and retaining walls.
• Provide technical support to the manufacturing team to help ensure proper fabrication of Contech products.
• Coordinate with field sales and manufacturing teams to address questions and concerns about product design, manufacture, and installation.
• Maintain working knowledge of governing specifications and contribute to their development, writing, and modification.
• Assist in writing and developing technical papers and product literature to support, promote, and train stakeholders on Contech products.
• Maintain knowledge and certifications in civil and structural engineering, and attend industry trade shows, continuing education courses, and seminars as needed.
