About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Staff Dentist for its Comprehensive Care Center in Bakersfield. This role involves developing and implementing patient and community education programs focused on dental disease prevention, alongside providing essential clinical dental services. While a significant portion of the professional time will be dedicated to chairside patient care, the overarching goal of preventive service will remain a priority. The organization is a Federally Qualified Health Center with a 47-year history, serving patients at 31 health centers in Fresno and Kern counties, offering a wide range of medical and behavioral health services. Clinica Sierra Vista is accredited by the Joint Commission and is committed to treating vulnerable populations with respect and compassion.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed dentist.
  • Ability to provide diagnostic, preventive, emergency, complete restorative, maintenance therapy, prosthetic therapy, and oral surgery services.
  • Willingness to develop and implement patient and community education programs.
  • Ability to supervise dental staff.
  • Proficiency in using provided techniques and methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting.
  • Experience in community dental health programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic, preventive, emergency, complete restorative, maintenance therapy, prosthetic therapy, and oral surgery services.
  • Work with the Dental Director to develop an effective patient and community education and dental disease prevention program.
  • Assist in establishing standards of oral health service and developing an organizational plan to carry out activities.
  • Learn to use provided techniques and methods appropriately.
  • Supervise dental staff.
  • Represent the clinic in meetings of professional groups.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
