About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Staff Dentist for its Comprehensive Care Center in Bakersfield. This role involves working with the Dental Director to develop and implement patient and community education programs focused on dental disease prevention, alongside providing essential routine clinical services. While a significant portion of the professional time will be dedicated to chairside patient care, the overarching goal of preventive service will remain a priority. The organization has a 47-year history of growth and innovation, serving vulnerable populations with respect and compassion at 31 health centers across Fresno and Kern counties. Clinica Sierra Vista is accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a wide range of services including Pediatric Care, Adult Care, Dental Care, Behavioral Health, and more. Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.
  • Valid California dental license.
  • Experience in providing comprehensive dental care, including diagnostics, preventive, restorative, prosthetic, and oral surgery services.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population.
  • Commitment to community health and preventive dental care.
  • Willingness to assist in developing and implementing patient education programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
  • Experience in community dental health programs.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic, preventive, emergency, complete restorative, maintenance therapy, prosthetic therapy, and oral surgery services.
  • Assist in establishing standards of oral health service and developing an organizational plan to carry out activities.
  • Learn to use provided techniques and methods appropriately.
  • Supervise dental staff.
  • Represent the clinic in meetings of professional groups.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
