About The Position

This position supports 3rd shift operations (~12:00 AM – 8:00 AM) and requires consistent overnight availability. The Lead Data Center Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and reliability of enterprise-scale data center environments. This role ensures high availability, performance, scalability, and security across business-critical infrastructure. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing advanced support across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data center facilities. This role also serves as an escalation point for complex incidents and plays a key part in maintaining disaster recovery readiness.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data center experience, including 4+ years in a dedicated Data Center Administrator (or similar) role
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-scale environments
  • Strong expertise across: Compute (rack/blad servers, OS-level troubleshooting)
  • Strong expertise across: Storage (SAN/NAS)
  • Strong expertise across: Networking (switching, routing fundamentals)
  • Strong expertise across: Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain production data center infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization platforms)
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex incidents and drive root cause resolution
  • Act as an escalation point for critical issues impacting availability or performance
  • Support and test high availability and disaster recovery strategies
  • Partner with engineering, facilities, security, and vendors to ensure operational stability
  • Contribute to process improvements, standardization, and documentation
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities, including AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency and diagnostics
