About The Position
Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Casual Chaplain to provide coverage across all shifts on an as-needed basis, primarily filling in for team members during PTO, leaves of absence, and other scheduling needs. The chaplain supports the spiritual and emotional care needs of patients, families, and staff as a member of the healthcare team. The role also provides spiritual and ethical consultation to medical staff to enhance patient care, coordinates Acute Bereavement Services, and facilitates community clergy access to parishioners or congregants within patient-confidentiality limits.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.

- Experience in parish ministry.
- Chaplain experience in a medical center environment.
- Graduate-level theological degree.
- Training in bereavement and ethics.
- Experience providing spiritual support in a multi-faith environment.
- Denominational endorsement.
- Certification or eligibility for certification by a national pastoral care organization.
- Clinical Pastoral Education.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive care to meet the spiritual and emotional needs of patients, families, and staff as a member of the healthcare team.
