Provide medical appointment transportation services locally and to surrounding areas, including Omaha. Escort members to medical appointments, assist with transfers in and out of State vehicles, and provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) during appointments. Transport paperwork, maintain confidentiality of member information, and communicate with nursing staff, other departments, and outside facility staff. Operate vehicle lift per facility policies and procedures. Serve as an advocate for the member, represent NDVA positively, and provide quality care to maintain quality of life while maintaining dignity and confidentiality. Perform routine nursing duties in the general care of elderly members in the Veterans Home. Prepare, administer, and document oral and topical medications and treatments. Schedule member appointments via phone or electronically, and communicate with VA and medical provider offices. Conduct member inventory, including maintaining VA-issued member equipment such as hearing aids and glasses.
