Indiana Legal Services, Inc. (ILS) is a statewide, not-for profit law firm that provides free legal services to eligible clients in civil cases through 8 branch offices. ILS is funded by the Legal Services Corporation, Indiana Civil Legal Fund, United Ways, Area Agencies on Aging, and approximately 60 other funding sources. This position is a part-time position in the Consumer Advocacy Project (CAP) located in the Indianapolis office of Indiana Legal Services. The Consumer Advocacy Project is a special partnership with several Center for Working Families community centers in the Indianapolis area, whose aim is to address legal barriers of individuals receiving financial coaching from the centers to increase their financial stability and upward mobility. The CAP staff attorney will provide legal assistance in a variety of legal matters; primarily the attorney will handle housing law and civil legal aid regarding those matters and perform other duties as assigned. The attorney will work with the CAP Project Director and under the supervision of the Indianapolis Managing Attorney.
