Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
  • Six years of administrative or management experience.
  • A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
  • The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in U.S. KYTC will only use E-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and completed the Form I-9.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the chief administrative officer to the Commissioner and department staff, overseeing HR and actively participating in procurement, budgeting, and departmental operations.
  • Oversees payroll, employee relations, recruitment, and HR processes to ensure a positive, productive, and compliant workplace.
  • Assist department and division staff with program execution, providing guidance and operational support as needed.
  • Develops and designs all presentations and briefing materials for the Commissioner’s Office, ensuring information is clear, polished, and impactful for internal and external audiences.
  • Coordinates all aspects of employee travel, from planning and booking to reimbursements-ensuring a smooth, efficient, and cost-effective process.
  • Drive communication strategy and stakeholder engagement, including social media management and intergovernmental coordination.
