About The Position

The Office of Development and University Relations (DUR) at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Staff Assistant I. Reporting to the Administrative Assistant, this position provides administrative support for the Development and University Relations team, primarily assisting Administrative Services, Alumni and Volunteer Relations and Events.

Requirements

  • HS diploma required
  • Two (2) years office clerical experience required.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task; attention to detail and organizational skills needed as well as establish priorities and manage time wisely.

Nice To Haves

  • some college or professional educational courses preferred.
  • Previous experience in an academic setting preferred.
  • Donor database experience preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser’s Edge database is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.

Responsibilities

  • Providing front desk support in coordination with Administrative Assistant.
  • Manage department emails and main development phone line.
  • Manage booking of department conference room.
  • Crosstrain with Advancement Services Specialist to serve as a back-up as needed.
  • Assist with meeting/event preparation for DUR team
  • Provide clerical support for the Senior Director teams. This includes Advancement Services, Alumni, Volunteer and Parent Programs and Stewardship and Events teams.
  • Assist to take RSVPs for events and functions.
  • Assisting in updating donor records in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Serve as back-up in managing student workers when Administrative Assistant is out of office.
  • Interface with UTampa community and public.
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
