About The Position

As a Staff AI Content Designer on our team at HelloFresh, you’ll be instrumental in building the next generation of HelloFresh experiences — from how customers discover us, to how they personalize their plans, manage their subscriptions, and fall in love with cooking. You'll shape the language, logic, and voice of these experiences at a pivotal moment in how HelloFresh shows up for its customers. This isn't a chatbot role. But it does require someone who understands how people converse with intelligent systems: how tone shifts in an exchange, how questions get asked and answered, how a response can feel natural or robotic depending on a single word choice. Great content design in an AI-powered product environment demands both strategic systems thinking and genuine editorial craft. If you care deeply about the difference between good and great, and you can articulate why, this role is for you.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in content design, UX writing, conversation design, or a closely related field
• A portfolio that demonstrates not just strong output but a clear point of view. You can walk through your decisions, defend your choices, and show how your work raised the bar for the people around you
• Experience designing for dynamic or personalized digital products; familiarity with AI-powered surfaces, recommendation systems, conversational flows, or adaptive content is a strong plus
• An editorial sensibility that goes beyond execution. You know the difference between competent and exceptional, and you can put it into words
• Proven ability to think in systems: zooming out to define the framework and zooming in to sweat the microcopy
• Proven ability to influence product direction rather than just execute on it. You've shaped roadmaps, not just shipped copy
• Comfort in experimentation-driven environments where you design for a hypothesis and learn from results
• Experience in subscription, e-commerce, or growth-stage consumer products is a plus
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Figma and AI tools like Claude or Gemini, and familiarity with agile ways of working

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end consumer experiences: Own content strategy, narrative flow, and interaction logic across any part of our full customer journey (discovery, personalization, shopping, subscription management, activation, and conversion funnels). Maintain accountability for the full experience and hold a high bar for quality at every stage.
• Leverage an AI-native workflow: Active usage of AI as a core part of your daily workflow includes synthesizing user insights, accelerating discovery, building rapid interactive prototypes (using tools like Claude Code, Gemini, or Figma AI), and closing the gap between design and implementation.
• Lead content for AI-powered surfaces: Partner with Product, Design and Engineering to design adaptive, dynamic content experiences where copy responds intelligently to context, behavior, and customer signals rather than living on static screens.
• Design for conversation and interaction: Bring an understanding of how customers converse with intelligent systems to bear on product decisions, shaping response patterns, interaction flows, and the rhythm of exchanges so they feel natural rather than mechanical.
• Raise the quality bar: Serve as the authority in the room on copy precision, tone, and interaction clarity. Define what great looks like, provide substantive critique that raises the team's work, and build shared language for evaluating design and content decisions across the organization.
• Drive experimentation and optimization: Collaborate on A/B testing, use data to inform design and content decisions, and build feedback loops that continuously improve the customer experience.
• Build content systems that scale: Develop frameworks, modular content patterns, and governance models that help the broader team move faster without sacrificing quality or consistency.
• Champion voice and standards: Serve as the authority on how HelloFresh speaks to customers, evolving our tone of voice guidelines to account for new interaction models including conversational and AI-generated content.
• Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with UX Research, Product, Design, Engineering, and Data to ground content decisions in customer insight and ship experiences that convert and retain.
• Support multi-brand execution: Adapt content for HelloFresh's family of brands, ensuring each speaks authentically to its distinct audience.
