About The Position

The Staff Accountant will maintain detailed accounting records, perform event settlements, event journal entries, and event income (flash) reports. This role involves reconciling general ledger account activity, balancing A/R and A/P control accounts to detail aging, and maintaining cash balance records. The Staff Accountant will reconcile cash receipts and disbursements to the general ledger, perform monthly closing of the general ledgers, and complete the monthly accounting cycle. This position accounts for facility financial transactions, inputs event journal entries, and performs monthly account analysis on all general ledger accounts, preparing adjusting journal entries. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, assist with internal and external audits, and maintain records for advanced deposits for events. Ensuring adherence to Legends Global Accounting policies and procedures, the role also acts as a liaison with other facility departments to wrap up event accounting activity and performs analytical reviews of facility financial data. Other duties may be assigned by the Finance Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a four (4) year college or university
  • Extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting
  • Excellent math skills
  • High aptitude for figures
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information
  • Strong accounting knowledge and skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to management and staff, as well as to all vendors and clientele
  • Organized, able to prioritize, and have strong time management skills to meet deadlines

  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
