About The Position

BRC Advisors is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounting and tax responsibilities across a variety of client engagements. You will work both independently and collaboratively, applying your technical expertise to deliver accurate financial reporting, support tax compliance, and provide meaningful insights to clients. This position offers the opportunity to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines with minimal supervision, while also collaborating with senior team members on more complex accounting and tax matters. The firm is known for its hands-on approach, strong client relationships, and deep expertise in accounting technologies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting or tax experience (internships acceptable)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software (CCH or similar preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Effective communication skills with both clients and internal teams
  • U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA-track preferred, not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Support and own portions of the month-end and year-end close process
  • Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and recommend adjustments
  • Prepare individual, partnership, and business tax returns
  • Conduct tax research and support appropriate tax treatment decisions
  • Communicate directly with clients to gather information and explain financial results
  • Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with senior team members on more complex accounting and tax matters
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
