About The Position

The Staff Accountant records financial activity and prepares financial statements for Saint Francis Health System entities. The role is part of Financial Services at the Yale Campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and works with internal and external customers, healthcare professionals, staff, and individuals at Director level or above. The position involves independent judgment in planning work sequences and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

Requirements

• Ability to develop and use PC-based spreadsheets and financial software.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and directors.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Three to four years of related experience is preferred.
• No licensure, registration, or certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations by established deadlines and investigate and resolve discrepancies with appropriate personnel.
• Reconcile and report unclaimed property for the Health System, including conducting research needed to file reports on time.
• Maintain the capital budget database for Saint Francis Health System.
• Establish and close projects in the project management system.
• Work with health system managers to answer questions about projects and available capital budget dollars.
• Prepare capital acquisition reports for the capital planning committee and other ad-hoc reports as required by Financial Services.
• Record monthly activity and prepare financial statements for one or more Health System entities.
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to budget.
• Assist with special projects, including budget preparation, working directly with auditors, records retention, cash and credit card reconciliation, intercompany payments, and equity entries.
